Who Is The Big Dog (Breeder) Here?

I am a dedicated dog breeder in Newark, Delaware, proudly serving families for over 30 years. Recently, I decided to change from Shelties to Coton de Tulears to embark on a new journey with new challenges.

It took a lot of research to decide which breed would follow my beloved shelties. I chose the coton de tulear, not because they are perfect. But they had most of the traits I was looking for.

They were:

  • small enough for me to handle,
  • happy, friendly temperament,
  • bred primarily to be a companion, ie, lapdog / cuddle bun,
  • long hair for me to have fun grooming BUT acceptable be clipped down for those who preferred a more wash and wear dog
  • and quieter then the sheltie which to be honest, just about any other breed is. (Yes, after 30 years of barking, I finally noticed.)

As with the shelties, I am focused on ethical breeding, lifelong canine wellbeing, and owner education. My work emphasizes research-based dog care, preventative health awareness, and thoughtful puppy development.

I offer guidance and consultation on general dog health, nutrition, coat care, temperament development, and long-term quality of life—always supporting, not replacing, licensed veterinary care.

For those of you curious about what a day in the life of a dog breeder is like, I’ll publish those topics with links below, so stay tuned:
